Investing in the future of food

It's an exciting time to be working on the future of food. The FoodTech500 revealed a huge leap in global funding and the Swiss Venture Capital report showed that 2021 was a record fundraising year for Swiss startups.

Large enterprises like NestlΓ© are investing in the infrastructure needed to translate knowledge and expertise into cutting-edge solutions. While cantons like Fribourg and Vaud are creating strategies and programs that allow the most promising innovations to scale. Β  Β

In just the first quarter of 2022, numerous Valley members - including
NEMIS Technologies, AgroSustain, Vivent, Rebels 0.0% and Luya - have secured the funding they need to drive forward their innovations. Many will now be joining Ecorobotix and Planted in putting pedal to the metal on their international expansions.

As changes in the Swiss policy framework open up further opportunities, investors are convinced that Switzerland is preparing the ground to become a global leader in future food solutions. Indeed, at the launch of our Impact Platforms on sustainable protein last month, we heard that we already have the technologies and resources to make a difference on the issues that matter most. Now we need more collaboration to co-create and accelerate innovation.

The Valley team is working closely with members to strengthen our offer as a food innovation nation and connect ecosystem actors with the Swiss and international partners that can support them on their journey. If this sounds relevant to you, please do reach out - we would love to hear from you.
