Celebrating our second
General Assembly
On Monday, we hosted our 2nd General Assembly, gathering SFNV members and partners to review our past few months of action: from the early development of our Impact Platforms to our Mapping of the Swiss FoodTech ecosystem, it has been eventful!
Looking ahead, we took this opportunity to also define the challenges and opportunities to tackle in the years to come. The highlight was no doubt hearing from startup founders about the strengths and shortfalls of our Swiss ecosystem when it comes to supporting entrepreneurship.
From "no-strings-attached" early-stage funding to accessing relevant infrastructure, there's work to be done. But we're leaving the event confident in the future of the Swiss FoodTech ecosystem. More than ever, we're excited to continue to listen to startups' needs and further develop our ecosystem. Thank you Guy Maurice from B'ZEOS, David Brandes from Peace of Meat, and Christoph Jenny from Planted for sharing your experience at the event.
Lastly, thank you to our SFNV members and all who attended, both online and in-person. We're honored to see so many of you behind our mission to unleash innovation, for better planetary and human health 🌍

Launching the first Impact Platform, Precision Nutrition
With the Impact Platforms, the Swiss Food & Nutrition Valley aims to unleash purpose-driven innovation in the food industry - focusing on five key areas. This month, the first platform on Precision Nutrition has been activated.
What is Precision Nutrition?Precision Nutrition is an emerging area of research that focuses on the relationship between genes and other individual-specific information, nutrition, and health. In contrast to a one-size-fits-all approach, it seeks to understand how an individual responds to what he or she eats, and how this knowledge can promote better health and prevent diseases.
"Today, we know that one wo/manβs superfood can be another wo/manβs poison. In the coming months, we will bring a diverse group of stakeholders together to exchange, collaborate and as a result drive concrete action and create impact.
With Precision
Nutrition, there is a lot of potentials to create a healthier world. ." - Yasemin

Announced this week, three Swiss companies Givaudan, BΓΌhler and Migros have formed a new entity, The Cultured Food Innovation Hub, in Kemptthal near Zurich, to accelerate the development and market penetration of cellular agriculture products. There are many arguments supporting the mass suitability of cultured meat: meat without slaughter or factory farming, a significantly better climate balance, no use of antibiotics, and ensured food security. The Cultured Food Innovation Hub will start operations next year.
